For the Professional Designation to be awarded, professionals must comply with the following minimum requirements: |

Any one of the following qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree: Information Technology/Information Systems/Computer Science/Computer Engineering at NQF Level 7.
Or
Bachelor's Degree in any other related field at NQF Level 7. |
Experiential Learning or Experience |
At least five years work experience in an IT environment. Three of these five years must have been spent in roles that carry a significant amount of responsibility, full accountability and present a challenging range of complex work activities. Candidates also need to demonstrate personal influence and well developed business skills. |
Competency Assessment |
Three professional Examinations:
The CITP (SA) Board Examination is compulsory:
Managerial Level CITP- Paper 1 Exam.
Strategic Level CITP - Paper 2 Exam.
Chartered Level CITP - Paper 3 Exam. |

RETAINING CRITERIA |
In order to ensure the currency of professional knowledge and to retain the Professional Designation, the professional must comply with the following minimum requirements: |

Continuing Professional Development (CPD) |
The ICITP Continuing Professional Development (CPD) policy requires the following ongoing learning by members:
20 CPD points per year must be accumulated and recorded. |
