DESCRIPTION: |
The AMICITP (SA) designation is a practitioner level designation for people who are associate practitioners in Information Technology. They are Associate Members of the Institute of Chartered IT Professionals also known as Information Technology Practitioners which is a level below the professional level. They are not experts in Information Technology. |
AWARDING CRITERIA |
For the Professional Designation to be awarded, professionals must comply with the following minimum requirements: |
Underlying Registered Qualification or Part Qualification: |
Higher Certificate at NQF Level 5; or
Occupational Certificate at NQF Level 5 in any of the subject areas of information technology, computer science or computer engineering;
Or
Any other comparable qualification at NQF Level 5 (e.g. Diplomas achieved under the 8-Level NQF or majoring in the Mathematical Sciences, but having taken information technology or computer science as part of the curriculum). |
Experiential Learning or Experience |
Candidates must have at least two years' work experience in an IT environment. |
Competency Assessment |
Candidates for this designation will be required to submit a written assignment. ICITP will give the topic for the assignment to the candidate who must complete and submit the assignment within three months. |
Designation RPL Statement |
This Designation may be awarded through Recognition of Prior Learning. |
RETAINING CRITERIA |
In order to ensure the currency of professional knowledge and to retain the Professional Designation, the professional must comply with the following minimum requirements: |
Code of Conduct |
Members must adhere to the Professional Body Codes of Conduct and Ethics. |
Continuing Professional Development (CPD) |
Designees are required to accumulate a minimum of 10 CPD points in a one-year cycle of registration. |
Fees |
Ensure that the annual membership fee is paid. |
