Social auxiliary worker (SAW). 
AWARDING CRITERIA
For the Professional Designation to be awarded, professionals must comply with the following minimum requirements: 
Underlying Registered Qualification or Part Qualification:
  • Matric.
  • Taking of oath at 1st year.

    Academic Component:
  • The learner must be registered upon enrolling for this qualification for a period not longer than 24 months, after which the conditional registration expires and the person, upon successful completion, applies for full registration. 
  • Experiential Learning or Experience
  • Experiential learning, under the supervision and guidance of a qualified and registered social worker. 
  • Competency Assessment
    1. Foreign nationals expected to write assignments and be exposed to oral exam/assessment.
    2. Practitioner must submit Portfolio of Evidence (PoE) for Continuing Professional Development (CPD). 
    Designation RPL Statement
    This Designation may not be awarded through Recognition of Prior Learning. 
    RETAINING CRITERIA
    In order to ensure the currency of professional knowledge and to retain the Professional Designation, the professional must comply with the following minimum requirements: 
    Code of Conduct
    Members must adhere to the Professional Body Codes of Conduct and Ethics. 
    Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
    CPD policy requires practitioners to obtain 20 CPD points. 
    Fees
    Ensure that the annual membership fee is paid.
