| DESCRIPTION: |
| The BP (SA) is awarded to practitioners who have just started working within the banking environment and would like to pursue a career in banking. Roles include and are not limited to Universal Banker, Teller, Administrator, Data analyst and entry level specialist roles. Roles are non-complex, low risk and would be governed by supervisory oversight. |
| AWARDING CRITERIA |
| For the Professional Designation to be awarded, professionals must comply with the following minimum requirements: |
| Underlying Registered Qualification or Part Qualification: |
| A minimum of NQF Level 4 qualification or equivalent in financial services or related industries. |
| Experiential Learning or Experience |
| Minimum one year work experience in Banking environment. |
| Competency Assessment |
A desktop evaluation is performed on the application. IOBSA is currently engaging with Bankseta regarding the implementation of competency assessments /board exams.

| This Designation may be awarded through Recognition of Prior Learning. |
| RETAINING CRITERIA |
| In order to ensure the currency of professional knowledge and to retain the Professional Designation, the professional must comply with the following minimum requirements: |
| Code of Conduct |
| Members must adhere to the Professional Body Codes of Conduct and Ethics. |
| Continuing Professional Development (CPD) |
| Members are required to complete a minimum of 20 hours of relevant, verifiable CPD activities in a reporting cycle. One relevant hour of CPD will earn the IOBSA member 1 CPD point (minimum of 50 minutes constitutes one hour). |
| Fees |
| Ensure that the annual membership fee is paid. |
