DESCRIPTION:
The Individual Staffing Practitioner (ISP) is the first level of entry that requires the individual to have a minimum qualification of a Matric or other relevant NQF Level 4 qualification.

A service that an Individual Staffing Practitioner offers to the industry is to establish, develop and maintain long term relationships with candidates and clients by providing recruitment and selection services. They would have an understanding of their specific business need in order to perform this task. A Practitioner would maintain and expand a database of clients and candidates; and compile a short list where possible of candidates. They would schedule and conduct interviews to determine a suitable match to the client's needs. A Practitioner would create and present the curriculum vitae of the candidate for submission to the client. Depending on the size of the organization a Practitioner may also negotiate placed candidates as per the clients and candidates need and be exposed to managing and maintaining a service level agreement with a client including fees, a payment schedule and guarantees.

At this level perhaps when one has been in the industry for at least 2 years the ISP may be introduced to the TES (Temporary Employment Services) industry. The service they will offer is to manage outsourced staff including recruitment and selection, industrial relations, people management, payroll and site supervision. They would maintain and expand a database of clients with temp requirements as well as a personal profile database of temp candidates. Depending on the size of the organisation and the clients account with the company the Practitioner may negotiate and place temps as per the temp candidate and clients needs. They build and maintain client and temp candidate relationships through their understanding of their specific business need.
AWARDING CRITERIA
For the Professional Designation to be awarded, professionals must comply with the following minimum requirements:
Underlying Registered Qualification or Part Qualification:
This first level requires the individual to have a minimum qualification of a Matric or other relevant NQF Level 4 qualification.

A unique NQF Level 4 Labour Recruitment qualification does exist for our sector and whilst it would be ideal to make this the first tier qualification, the lack of accredited training providers, assessors and moderators for the qualification means that it is not currently feasible.

As a Matric is a relatively low entry qualification, we will also make it mandatory for the individual to write and pass (with 75%) our entrance exam. This 10-module programme is delivered via an e-learning platform and forms the basis of the "embedded knowledge" requirements for the sector. To a large extent, the content has been developed to correspond to the theoretical components of the NQF Level 4 Labour Recruitment qualification.
Experiential Learning or Experience
Must have a minimum of six months experience within the staffing industry.
Competency Assessment
Must successfully complete the APSO Entrance Exam.
Designation RPL Statement
