AWARDING CRITERIA |
For the Professional Designation to be awarded, professionals must comply with the following minimum requirements: |
Underlying Registered Qualification or Part Qualification: |
Higher Certificate in Event Management, NQF Level 5, SAQA ID 84686 & 115970.
Or
National Certificate in Sport Event Management, NQF Level 5, SAQA ID 60276.
Or
Any relevant NQF Level 5 qualification in tourism, hospitality, event management or similar. |
Experiential Learning or Experience |
Individuals in fulltime employment need to demonstrate at least one-year relevant work experience. In contrast, individuals working on a freelance basis need to demonstrate at least 1,500 hours of relevant work experience in the events industry. |
Competency Assessment |
Written examination or a portfolio of evidence supporting the claim of competence. There will be an independent assessment by the SACIA certification Council. |
Designation RPL Statement |
This Designation may be awarded through Recognition of Prior Learning. |
RETAINING CRITERIA |
In order to ensure the currency of professional knowledge and to retain the Professional Designation, the professional must comply with the following minimum requirements: |
Code of Conduct |
Members must adhere to the Professional Body Codes of Conduct and Ethics. |
Continuing Professional Development (CPD) |
45 CPD points over three years. |
Fees |
Ensure that the annual membership fee is paid. |
