| DESCRIPTION: |
A registered Therapeutic Aromatherapist is a complementary healthcare therapist treating patients
according to a multifaceted, non-invasive system of treatment that uses aromatic plants extracts such
as volatile essential oils and hydrosols, via a range of application modes, for therapeutic purposes, in
order to facilitate the restoration of health applying scientific principles that fundamentally differentiates
and identifies the practice of the discipline. The integration of holistic health principles however also
forms an integral part of the philosophy of Therapeutic Aromatherapy. |
| AWARDING CRITERIA |
| For the Professional Designation to be awarded, professionals must comply with the following minimum requirements: |
| Underlying Registered Qualification or Part Qualification: |
| Diploma in Therapeutic Aromatherapy, NQF Level 6. |

| This Designation may be awarded through Recognition of Prior Learning. |
| RETAINING CRITERIA |
| In order to ensure the currency of professional knowledge and to retain the Professional Designation, the professional must comply with the following minimum requirements: |
| Code of Conduct |
| Members must adhere to the Professional Body Codes of Conduct and Ethics. |
| Continuing Professional Development (CPD) |
| 40 CPD points in a two-year cycle. |
| Fees |
| Ensure that the annual membership fee is paid. |
