| DESCRIPTION: |
A registered Ayurveda Practitioner is a complementary healthcare practitioner diagnosing and treating
patients according to the principles of traditional healing system which began in India over 5000 years
ago. "Ayurveda" is a Sanskrit word which derives from two roots: "vid" which means knowledge and
"ayus" which means life cycle. Ayurveda is often referred to as the science of life and longevity. It is a
complete system of medicine which advocates that all beings come from nature and are an integral part
of the whole creation. |
| AWARDING CRITERIA |
| For the Professional Designation to be awarded, professionals must comply with the following minimum requirements: |
| Underlying Registered Qualification or Part Qualification: |
| NQF Level 8 qualification in Ayurveda. |

| This Designation may be awarded through Recognition of Prior Learning. |
| RETAINING CRITERIA |
| In order to ensure the currency of professional knowledge and to retain the Professional Designation, the professional must comply with the following minimum requirements: |
| Code of Conduct |
| Members must adhere to the Professional Body Codes of Conduct and Ethics. |
| Continuing Professional Development (CPD) |
| 40 CPD points in a two-year cycle. |
| Fees |
| Ensure that the annual membership fee is paid. |
