| DESCRIPTION: |
A registered Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture Practitioner is a complementary healthcare
practitioner diagnosing and treating patients based on the philosophical approach of yin and yang and
using a broad range of medicine practices based on a tradition of more than 2000 years including herbal
medicine, massage (Tui Na), acupuncture and dietary therapy. Diagnosis includes an evaluation of
symptoms indicating underlying functional disharmony by pulse diagnosis, inspection of the tongue,
skin and eyes. |
| AWARDING CRITERIA |
| For the Professional Designation to be awarded, professionals must comply with the following minimum requirements: |
| Underlying Registered Qualification or Part Qualification: |
| Bachelor of Complementary Medicine in Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture, NQF Level 8. |

| Board Examination. |

| This Designation may be awarded through Recognition of Prior Learning. |
| RETAINING CRITERIA |
| In order to ensure the currency of professional knowledge and to retain the Professional Designation, the professional must comply with the following minimum requirements: |
| Code of Conduct |
| Members must adhere to the Professional Body Codes of Conduct and Ethics. |
| Continuing Professional Development (CPD) |
| 40 CPD points in a two-year cycle. |
| Fees |
| Ensure that the annual membership fee is paid. |
