DESCRIPTION:
This designation is open to junior to mid-level Office Professionals with a basic education and some practical experience in the administrative field. 
AWARDING CRITERIA
For the Professional Designation to be awarded, professionals must comply with the following minimum requirements: 
Underlying Registered Qualification or Part Qualification:
This entry level designation is open to all office professionals resident in South Africa who have a minimum of two years' experience in an office role.

Academic Component:
Matric or NQF Level 3 in Business Administration or Public Administration qualification or equivalent.

NQF Level 3 and above qualifications are accessible as a Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) qualification Association for Office Professionals of South Africa (OPSA) actively supports the application of RPL. 
Experiential Learning or Experience
A minimum of two years working experience. 
Competency Assessment
All applicants are required to complete a Portfolio of Evidence which tests their skills and competence in a range of office-related tasks. This is assessed by OPSA's CPD Committee and recommendations are made to the secretariat on competent applicants. 
Designation RPL Statement
This Designation may be awarded through Recognition of Prior Learning. 
RETAINING CRITERIA
In order to ensure the currency of professional knowledge and to retain the Professional Designation, the professional must comply with the following minimum requirements: 
Code of Conduct
Members must adhere to the Professional Body Codes of Conduct and Ethics. 
Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
Members are required to achieve 20 CPD points in a two-year period to retain their designations. 
Fees
Ensure that the annual membership fee is paid.
