DESCRIPTION: |
The Certified Director designation is an entry level director designation which recognises corporate governance knowledge as enshrined in the Director Competency Framework. Certified Directors have been vetted against training and evaluation requirements and have the requisite corporate governance knowledge to perform their duties from an informed and tested perspective. |
AWARDING CRITERIA |
For the Professional Designation to be awarded, professionals must comply with the following minimum requirements: |
Underlying Registered Qualification or Part Qualification: |
A candidate must have an NQF Level 4 qualification or higher. |
Experiential Learning or Experience |
Must have at least three years' senior manager or higher experience. |
Competency Assessment |
Must successfully complete the pre-requisite Certified Director pathway training programmes along with the related multiple-choice questions (MCQs) before successfully completing the Cert.Dir examination. |
Designation RPL Statement |
This Designation may be awarded through Recognition of Prior Learning. |
RETAINING CRITERIA |
In order to ensure the currency of professional knowledge and to retain the Professional Designation, the professional must comply with the following minimum requirements: |
Code of Conduct |
Members must adhere to the Professional Body Codes of Conduct and Ethics. |
Continuing Professional Development (CPD) |
Commit to continually enhancing professionalism by participating in structured continuing professional development (CPD) activities.
Each designee must earn and report 30 CPD points per annum, which may be verified by the IoDSA.
CPD activities for IoDSA designees are organised into five categories; Designees may earn CPD points in any or all of these categories: Professional work-based activities, New Director Mentoring, Personal Activities Outside Work, Courses, Seminars and Conferences, and Self-Directed Learning Activities. |
